Better Training Provides intensive, Maths and English courses to the RAF.

Better Training was set up nearly 15 yrs ago specifically to offer Maths and English skills to the Army. Promotional courses were only open to individuals who had achieved certain qualifications. Although these could be obtained on-line, many learners preferred being taught by a teacher and these intensive week courses proved to be a very popular, enjoyable and a successful way of achieving the qualifications.

Many learners start on a Functional skills course progress on to GCSE courses. It is a prerequisite for the GCSE Maths and English courses that the learner has already achieved Level 2 Functional Skills in that subject.

Our Tutors are all very experienced with a vast depth of subject knowledge. They are very sympathetic and aim to make the learning process as painless and as effective as possible.

This training is funded by the Skills Funding Agency via Abingdon and Witney College with whom Better Training works in partnership.

Better Training has an overall 86% pass rate (2018-19), with a GCSE pass rate of 77%. This is well above the national average.
